Study = BORED? - General Study Tips 1

Most of students now in Malaysia, found that they can’t really concentrate in study. They blame that there are many distractions around them – internet; movies; songs; even friends.
Teachers realized that they don’t have enough time for guiding everyone of their students, sometimes they may neglect the one or two of them in class, and even more!

How? How? Why? Why? Always come to their mind.

In general, there are many STUDY SKILLS.

1. GOOD TIME MANAGEMENT have to be in students
2. Must be a WELL STRUCTURED student
3. GREAT SELF-DISCIPLINE student

I guess, this was a blessed, really.
Still cannot really believe on it, we are in TOP 6 now…
Our dream was just kick-started when the time result was announced during the Judging Session.
We are now nearer to the real business, aren’t we?

Thanks for friends who are there, Taylor University’s Lakeside Campus for supporting us.
Again, it meant a lot to us. =)

Part of the celebration, we actually received many comments from the judges,
First from Brandon, he said we did improve, but still not the best of us. There are much things to improve on, especially the financial and also the marketing part that we have.
Then of course, from our supporters, basically they mentioned that we have to be more details in things that we presented, it seems many things still not great enough. =(

All these are spaces from us to improve next will be lot s of meet up to improve our idea!
Wish that we can give a big change to education nowadays!

Here it goes-The report for BreakThrough Session
It was Fabulous!
We are team 8, which need to present at the second session @ 2pm, kind of nervous as we arrived in the morning at 10am!
We able to feel the intense in the early morning, it was just so scary.
Pooi Mun (Samm) is the presenter that needs to present the 2 minutes Elevator Pitch. She was scared by others teams from the beginning of the morning. =)
Well, Raymond and QI Hong will be prepared to answer the questions from the judges; they are neither in a great condition. =) Ha-ha.

2 minutes, was just too short for us!!
When we on stage, with flash and video, everything that just too fast, before we get use to the stage, TIME’S UP!
Judges, neither one of them be nice to us, Mr. Michael Reyes asked us a lot-How to you differentiate with others? Can you use 8 words to describe your business?
We did not answer the questions perfectly. =(
It stunned us and made us did lot of critical thinking afterwards.

Despite the nervous and stress, we did have fun in meeting lot of new friends and judges there! =)

Breakthrough Session!

After short break of CNY, as usual we continue our journey in YES 2. 

Despite follow the style that used in YES 1, Yu Vee told us that changes are made in the short listing session. This time, they will short list us based on our EXECUTIVES SUMMARY + ELEVATOR PITCH on 13rd March 2010!!

Judges will not just judges us based on our Executive Summary, but also our presentation on Elevator Pitch to out judges on that day! Of course, questions will be asked from them also. (We guess the judges will not be nice to us, in order to make us growth!)

There are 31 teams of us and only 10 teams will be survived from these! Grab the chance to witness the team battle it out against each other, for sure this will be an eye-opener to all of you! Since judges will ask question after every groups which presented! :)

Meeting Up with our Mentor

During preparation of our Executive Summary, we are lucky in meeting up with our mentor, Mr Tony Looi Chee Hong, the Chairman of Ban Lee Hin Group who is the directors of many companies under Ban Lee Hin Group.

He guided us in our business ideas and adds in more interesting information with us throughout the discussion.

Besides, he also shared with us his experiences in being a successful entrepreneur and ways for us to grab more opportunities in life. He also encourages us to participate more in this type of activities to let us gain experiences.

He mentioned that this can be our strong weapon in the coming years.

At last, he found our business idea was interesting! He supports us with actions! He signing up a letter of intention to become our mentor along the ways if we manage to get through YES 2J

Preparing Our Executive Summary- Due on 6 February 2010

Once finished training at 23rd January 2010, we had our discussion for “Business Idea”.

We did face some problems during brainstorming our ideas and solutions on it. We did meet up some seniors in our university for their guidance about our “Business Idea”, especially senior – Wynlyn Chia, she guided us a lot through out the process, especially in how to present it in our executive summary.


At last, we managed to overcome the minor obstacles, we ended up with a business called









And we noticed ourselves as DreamzBuilders, interested in our ideas?

He declared himself is the MARATHON MAN!

“I am a UM accounting undergraduate. I love to interact with people, because I wish I can build my largest networking in life, so that it can be very useful in my future. It not only for business purposes, but at the same time can build my friendship longer lasting.
People use to describe me as a marathon man! I use to arrange my schedule full and very pack. If I got a lot of free time, I will feel myself uneasy. I was participated a lot of activities in university, holding some positions in some clubs and societies. I love to play piano, guitar and swimming during my free time. These eventually help me to reduce my tension and stress. This is my way to develop my brain as well!

For your information, I was a former National swimmer. I swim for Malaysia in Asean Universities Games 2008. It can help me to brain storm myself for my academics and activities when I’m swimming.”

A little girl with lots dreams in mind. Stepping in University of Malaya is the first station for her towards her dreams. She currently works very best for everything, in studies and also activities with a principal play and work even harder for the best!

For her, joining programs such as Maybank Youth Entrepreneur Startup Challenge 2 (YES 2) is a gateway for her towards her dream being a success entrepreneur. She believes that, besides the money she may get at the end provided if she win; She can get far more than it which more worth than money = her experience in YES 2.

From him, he felt super excited when got a chance in participating YES 2, as he always desires to have his own business. He believes this where he builds up his networks and also knowledge in business. To him, practical and experience means more to him than just reading books.

Training @ Money Tree

A one day training which conducted at Money Tree.

At first, we thought that it was just a normal training with several of talks.
We were right, yes, there were few talks given.
But, at last, we found it interesting by listening to speakers in sharing with us their experiences in becoming a successful entrepreneur.

Basically the topic presented by them:
1. The Entrepreneur- They shared with us definition of being entrepreneur, and how to become the successful one.
2. Recognizing – They guided us how to recognize potential business and ways to turn them to profits!
3. Executive summary – This was the technical part that they taught us.

Yup, speakers of the day are Brandon Liew and Wong Yu Vee. They are great!
Honestly, we are inspired by them in grabbing opportunities around us and make them beneficial to us!
